We’re always interested in discovering new people and their work. A friend sent us a link to a video of Todd Martin in his Ridgewood, NY studio. We hadn’t heard of Todd before, but the video gave a great behind-the-scenes look at his process. He talks about restoring and fine-tuning vintage sewing machines to ‘make jeans on old machines.’

To Todd, these machines aren’t just tools—they’re like his ‘babies.’ Many come to him needing some TLC, and he spends hours getting them back in shape so they can help him craft denim that he describes ‘as beautiful on the inside as it is on the outside.’ Every detail matters, from thread tension to seam closures.
Take a few minutes to watch—it’s a great reminder that the small details can make all the difference.
